Hello everyone!

To those of you that have made your way over here from my old blog: HELLO! Thanks for sticking with me ♥

If you're a new reader: HELLO! If you want to know a bit more about me, visit my About Me section up above. Most importantly, don't forget to connect with me via social media - you can find all of my links in the main menu or in the section on the right. Also, don't forget to follow my blog with Bloglovin to keep updated with my posts now Google reader has left us all.

So why the new blog? In recent months my old blog just wasn't doing it for me and I hadn't posted on there for a long time. My heart just wasn't in it.

I have been thinking a lot about my life and the kind of life I want to live. When I look at my past, I feel happiest when I look back on all of my memories and experiences.

I am fighting a constant battle to not be defined by my possessions. I do still love a sparkly nail polish or two, but when I think about it, it's not buying or owning the polish that makes me happy. It's taking the time to sit and paint my nails and seeing them look pretty.

Things > Experiencing

I have some important financial goals to work towards this year, and although I'm not on a spending ban, I do really need to make an effort to overcome the urge to buy things that add no real value to my life. For example, I will be getting a DSLR. I enjoy photography and I really want to try and improve my skills in composition and the technical side of using a camera.

With that in mind, I want to start blogging in a way that focuses on the things I'm doing, rather than what I'm buying. I sat down and wrote a list of things that I think will help me do this, and thought this post would be a nice time to share it.

My 2014 blog goals...

  • To use my own photographs where possible
  • To regularly post about what I have been reading
  • Book reviews!
  • Recipes we've tried
  • Places we've been
  • Places we're dreaming of
  • Things that make me happy
  • Inspiration posts - quotes, music, movies, beauty, fashion, home decor and so on...
  • DIY/tutorial posts
  • Blogger Love - featuring my favourite bloggers
  • My Week posts inspired by the lovely Angela @ Paper Lovestory
  • ...and most importantly: Post regularly!

What are your blog goals for this year?
