I genuinely could not be happier that 2015 is over. That sounds so depressing and negative, but if I said it has been filled with fun, sparkles and amazing times, I would be lying. Buying our house has been one of the most difficult things I’ve done in my life: it’s been expensive, stressful, time consuming and there always seems to be something else to do or buy. We keep telling ourselves that it’s almost over, and in a few months we’ll have a lovely little home that we can just live in and enjoy.
I’m making one resolution this year:
To enjoy 2016 and focus on the little things.
That sounds very vague and wishy washy, because it is. I think we put so much pressure on ourselves to be better and do more each year, and this year is not going to be like that for me. I’m going to try and just enjoy my days, especially the little things in life, the simple, mundane day to day things that make me happy… A couple of hours reading a good book, enjoying a movie with Matt, a pretty manicure or even a nice breakfast on a Saturday morning.
To those of you who had a great 2015, I hope your 2016 is even better. And those of you who are thanking the stars that this year is finally going to be over, I hope 2016 is happier, healthier and better for you too!
