So today’s post is definitely a happy one, as I can finally tell you all that…
Matt and I have bought a house!
Our experience of buying a house has been
a long an excruciatingly long and at times frustrating process, which means we’ve had plenty of time to decide on how we want to put our own stamp on the house, AKA we’ve been pinning like crazy on Pinterest to my Home Decor Inspiration board 😉
We viewed the house twice before making an offer and we knew that we would have to replace the kitchen and bathroom sooner rather than later, however we were not prepared for how bad a condition the house was actually in once we got in there. Furniture hides A LOT! There are areas in the house that need quite a bit of TLC and work, but we had anticipated this as the house was built in the 1950s so we knew we weren’t walking into a pristine new build.
It’s really exciting to finally be able to put our own stamp on things without needing permission from pesky landlords. We are still living with Matt’s parents at the moment as we are replacing the kitchen and bathroom, having most of the rooms replastered and/or skimmed and replacing the windows and doors.
As we are pretty much renovating the house now rather than putting a bit of fresh paint here and there, I thought it would be nice to document our renovation journey here on my blog. So, expect updates here and there complete with pictures!
